Not Bad CV Joints - my mechanic says I had them done about a decade (1,000 miles) ago.  Mechanics conclude the (older) tires need replaced.

1985 Subaru BRAT -(BiDrive Recreational All Terrain Transporter)

This is a Generation 2.  Gen 1 was 1977 to 81.  Gen 2 was 82-87.  They were all manufactured to hold rear seats, but in 1986 when the US said the seats would no longer put it in the lower "car" import tax bracket, the seats were left out and the much higher "truck" import  tax which brought the end of the era in 2 years.

I bought my first Brat new in 1982 with, Shift on the Fly 4WD (not AWD), with the patented "Hill Holder Clutch." I got 32 mpg in a 16 mpg world.   Although history shows Many BRATs got 300,000 miles, when mine got to 140,000 in 1987 the CV joints needed replaced so I  sold it.

Since then I have had several other Brats which I have driven until the CV Joints start to shake... around 140,000 miles.

This BRAT: 
Given the BRAT's rust history I was happy to find this Southern Brat which had/has never seen salt.  Midwest BRATs are rust buckets.  This Southern BRAT has three really bad areas yet the rest of the body is way above average (I do not know why. Perhaps drove to the ocean/beach and did not wash those areas???)  With the Right Rear Corner Panel and both rocker panels needing work.  Also a 1inch wide several inches tall bend just in front of the L Rear Tail=light  I bought this with two new rocker panels about 18 years ago playing to refurbish it when I returned from IRAQ in 2008.  Injured ad several surgeries (including Oct 2023) I have not been /am not able to due  the refurbish so I have used it as a April to November routine driver.  This month with almost 142,000 miles I feel the (CV Joint type) shake and rather then paying for another winter's storage I am selling it.  Note: it has some great rust coating that has appeared to stop the rusting.  (I was told that about 35,000 miles were towed tow bar is included.  Also comes with the As Is camper shell.

For Sale As Is.  I still think it would be a great project BRAT, or someone may want to just drive it as a daily driver 4wd with good rust coating so it could learn what snow is.  

Separate items I have available include:
             tow bar, rear seats, roll bar with lights, and both another engine and transmission from a "BRAT totaled with just under 50k miles" and a car dolly.

No I am not able to wrench on it, thus... "As Is".
